The two sockets I use. You can see the scuffing in the plastic liner that didn't happen to the anodized lug nuts.

Right side is the 928 International socket with the plastic insert and heat-shrink sleeve. Left is the flank-drive 6pt impact socket I use to hand-remove lug nuts after initial loosening with the plastic-lined tool.

Top is plastic lined, bottom is flank-drive impact socket.

It is a moot point now, I have spoken to Tom at 928 International. They no longer sell the plastic lined sockets because Porsche no longer offers them.

Rick, sorry about the incorrect memory. What you did reminds me of what I have to do when I stick a bolt head in a socket. Apply opposite force. I felt so bad for wasting that guy's time.
