Not quite a direct translation in German for oilman more for “oil man”. I work in the oil & gas business.

Till my new plate from the State of Mn. arrived I used the same for both cars. Who would figure. Porsche, silver/gray, 02-04, they all look alike!

Caution- penalties for circumventing a rule are generally greater than violating the rule. I might do the same, though.

A buddy did that with a pair of (similar) red Corvettes when the one would no longer pass emissions. The police did not find it amusing at all when the ran VIN to tag. Before a judge, he pled his case of stupidity, and they bought it. Still think he had to pay a heavy fine.
