While attempting to register this car in the 928 Owners club registry It was rejected because the car is a different "Title or Model".
Here is the screenshot:

Next I contacted Jarrod Wise who with incredible dedication maintains the 928 Owners Club Registry database. After a few go-arounds, we found that I740 "Exhibition" is a separate model which up until this point seems to have been undiscovered:

Special thanks to Jarrod for his dedication to the 928 Owners Club registry. It is an invaluable resource and I recommend/request that every 928 owner register his/her car, join the OC and enter their car in the Registry.

The display of the registry shifted when this car was entered. 0023 dropped out of sequential numbering and "Exhibition" now appears as a "new model" displayed between "Early and "Late" GTS's
Screenshot:
This car continues to surprise me as to its incredible condition and uniqueness. She is proving to be both a mystery and fun research project.

"Exhibition Car"
Porsche has partially answered my question: What an "Exhibition Car" and why is it listed as a separate model?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
How many total worldwide "Exhibition" cars are there? 41
How many U.S. "Exhibition" Specification cars are there? 5
How many U.S./Canada "Exhibition" Dual Certification cars are there? 1 (My Snow White)
How many ROW cars are there? 35
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What makes I740 "Exhibition" cars different?
It turns out that there are no special individual parts. I740 is: "Exhibition Finish". Ultra straight bodies were identified and removed from the production line and taken to the "Exclusive" department for instillation of exclusive options and show preparation for various worldwide markets. Fine adjustments were made and any imperfect parts were replaced during three separate finishing/inspection sequences. Additional perfection of the paintwork was completed which included clear coating, wet sanding, blocking and buffing..
Where the individual cars went on exhibition is not yet clarified... Some have been documented at shows or being used as press cars.

As long as we have the XX8 and XC1 threads going and these rarities being discussed. I thought it would be fun to see if anyone has found another "Exhibition" car?

I came across this Exhibition car recently - apparently built for the 1994 Geneva Auto Show. I believe it's the 4th or 5th most heavily optioned 928 ever made. Painted Amaranth Violet (actually a standard color in ‘94). Shame it hasn’t been taken care of any better than it has.

Nice find! I looked at the options listed, found the I740! So indeed it is indeed a pretty special car! Jarrod needs to re-classify it as an "Exhibition" in the registry so it shows up properly. Especially since its only the second one that is in there! Where is it now?
Thanks!

I’m not sure how to change the designation in the Registry so will send Jarrod a message.
Car is currently for sale in Wuppertal, Germany.

Have some mercy on me guys! This car is sooooo outrageously optioned! It even has IX38 "wider front fenders"!
Andrew's right! Imagine perfecting all of this leather! I'd be in his thing over $200k before attacking the mechanicals! Now I'm kicking myself for not buying it when it was for sale last year for $80k!
