Thanks for all the messages and joining in the anticipation! Plus a shout out to Jim Doerr of 928 Classics for joining in this adventure with almost no notice as my co-driver!
We pulled off a marathon drive of just over 30 hours with a few short food stops and one with the Oklahoma State Police with me driving - No Ticket from a really nice officer who seemed more interested in our adventure than even warning us about our pace. So... Harbor Springs, Michigan through Saginaw, Chicago, St Louis, Oaklahoma City, Albuquerque and on to Gallup New Mexico (1,959 miles) and puts us within five hours of the car. I'm so excited I can't sleep!
While on the road we did see one black 928 on a car hauler headed west - I think it had Pennsylvania plates on it. This is the best shot I got.
Anyone ship one lately???
Tonight we are staying right on Route 66 and it is truly an "Old road" with many artifacts of when it was the main artery of the automobile world across America...
We found this crustic "Truck Terminal" along the road. The neon sign must have been awesome in its day!
Should have it by early afternoon tomorrow. Can't wait!

The Midway Cafe in Adrian, TX is a great place to stop for a bite to eat. I always plan our trips around a stop there for lunch! Great burgers and homemade pies and a Route 66 memorabilia shop. Oh and congrats on the GTS!

Congrats. Driver's side front door gap looks a little odd, but might just be the photo. That black one looks like it has the shiny manhole cover wheels and might be the one from the BAT listing posted by Shawn in the last couple weeks that had PA tags.

Wow, what a knock around awesome day! I'm pretty sure it couldn't have went any better.
I'll let Dave do his thing and share the pièce de résistance. All I can say is wow.....
Tucson has great Mexican food! And the AZ road scenery today was other-worldly. Gorgeous!
Lastly, what a treat to meet up with T@T in Tucson. Great hospitality, great people! Thank you so much

Got it!
Loaded it up for the ride home. Not sure if I have ever seen a cleaner 54k mile mile 928. The car exceeded my expectations... ;-)
Enjoying the incredible hospitality of 77tony and enjoying a great Mexican dinner in Tucson.
Next part of the adventure? Picking up an old classic 1921 Grand Piano for the car cave. Why? Why not....
