Default Coco Mats - Fit

Looking for input from those who have Coco Mats for their 928. I bought a set for my 84 Euro 5-speed, and am not happy with how they fit. I am wondering if what I received is incorrect, or if others have the same issues.

Driver Side: with mat as far rearward as possible, up against seat rail, the front right cutout rides up on the gas pedal, interfering with the operation of the pedal releasing fully. If I stuff it under the seat rail enough to clear the pedal, the cutout for dead pedal is off. Also, the cutout for the seat rail nearest the sill does not allow clearance around the seat rail. I can stuff it under the rail to a point, but not enough for the mat to lay flat.

Passenger Side: the mat needs to be stuffed under the seat rail, and the cutout for the section between the box for the computers and the amplifier box is not correct, leaving a significant gap.

I have them on my US-spec 84. When I purchased them, they did not fit properly. As I recall, the issues were somewhat like yours. When I called them to report the problem, they immediately sent me prepaid packaging to return the mats and asked me to include a paper pattern showing what would work. A week or so later I received the redone mats which still look like new 6 years later.

Either they updated their master pattern with mine, and it's not universal to all 928's. Or they never updated their pattern.

I have them in two of mine. Like Hugo I had them send me a paper pattern to correct the driver side on one of the cars which now fits perfectly. The other car’s mat fits great from the initial mat. One thing to check before getting them to make a new one is to make sure that the gas pedal can’t be moved back. There are additional mounting holes that allow you to move the gas pedal forward and back.

Overall I really like the mats and will be buying more for some of my others. They were extremely helpful and didn’t charge me for the replacement mat.

Subscribed. I really like these too.
Could someone in the know add sourcing to this thread? Wish I had something to add atm, however let me ask, do the mats have or need to have anchors?
Thanks!

They have no anchors, and I haven't missed them.

Have a set in both the S4 and 993 - great mats!

Thanks for the replies. It may be that their 928 pattern is for the cars with newer (85+) seats - maybe the seat rails are different. I will contact them.

Jim - I got mine through www.cocomats.com - the real deal. There are knock-offs available, that may not be as well made. I really like these, they are very heavy duty and look like they will last forever. I got the black/grey to break up the all black in my car.

One last question for those who have these installed in 84- S cars, how does the passenger side fit near the sill? Is the space totally covered between the computer housing and amp box?

I have them in my car and the drivers side is a hair too big as well. They sent a pattern for the passenger side and we they got it perfect. Much better fit overall than Lloyds. Also the people at Coco mattes are really good to work with.
I went thru 12 swatches until I found the right color combo that worked with grey/green

Brian,

My passenger mat touches the amp box and does not leave an uncovered area as shown in your photo. That's because mine does not have the flap that is intended to fit under the seat. I'm pretty sure that's a result of the pattern I sent back to them.
