Wheel and tire size question
I was thinking about buying a set of wheels 18x8 with an 50 offset for the front and 18x11 with an 63 offset on the rear (Techno hollow spoke). Will these fit on a 928?. If so what would be the best size tires to fill the wells?
Thanks
Thanks

Fit yes, work well no. And depending on the tire you might need to roll the front fenders.
I would look for a higher offset.

A long as you are thinking about it and do not actually do it you will be fine!

Thanks Gents I can always count on you to add feed back!
Adam...I have a GT...my fenders are rolled at the factory and I have spacers (17mm from the factory) for the rears...so the offset is only 3mm difference on the back compared with my factory 60mm ET club sport rims, so really it appeared the biggest challenge was going from 9 inch to 11 inch on the rear.
The front i'd be going from an offset of 60mm to 50mm but still an 8 inch rim. I was thinking a small spacer might help.
Fred...i think they would look nice for a change and I was going to have my club sport rims refinished and put them away for safe keeping.

Nothing wrong with the desire to have a fresh look for whatever reason. Many, myself included believe the 18 inch wheel size is the best of all worlds but each to his own of course.
Where things go a bit pear shaped is the offset. The front suspension was designed to have an offset of 65mm to achieve the "designed in" NSR [negative scrub radius] of 10mm as I recall. This is intended to give the car differential stability if for instance the passenger side wheels hit standing water- the concept being to prevent or minimise yaw. The paradox is your model year GT in that it was the only model fitted with the Club Sport rims and they have ET60. Later GT's were fitted with Design 90 rims with ET65. Thus to achieve the design intent wheels intended for the likes of the 911 do not cut the mustard as it were. Plenty of folks use non OEM offsets and are happy with them but I take the point of view that Porsche knew what they were doing- but why they did what they did with the 89GT is beyond me. On your wheels folks have fitted 245 up front but that probably needs a stiffer front anti roll bar to keep its *** in check.
The closest readily available wheel is the Panamera with about ET59 or whatever. There are some 17 inch Cup 1 rims 9.5 inch with ET 68 but they are quite rare and somewhat expensive if you find them. Beyond that you are into 3 piece custom wheels like mine at whatever the going rate is these days.

ET 50 with 8” wide for the front is to low an ET, like others say needs to be at least 60 with 8”

The fronts though, you are moving your tyre contact point OUT by 10mm on each side [20mm wider front track]. So, as said spacers will just move your rims out even further.
When I bought my '94 GTS, it had 50mm something after market rims, which stuck out a bit and I didn't like the look so I bought a set of genuine rims from Porsche. I was expecting a wonderful change, tramlining etc but I couldn't tell the slightest difference?
so there's a view for what it's worth.
Here's a great site I like to use;

In an 18" the panamera wheels or the carrerra III's are the best option.
