Free enterprise is great, that's what Ebay and classified ads are for.
But to use Rennlist and tell everyone to send in bids, then not respond to the bidders and at the end state that he is now not sure if he is even selling, is not right.
And if Randy's rules regarding selling items here stands, this post shouldn't even be here.
YMMV
Sab.

Sorry if you took my post as a gripe, I guess it was not not really meant to be. I just wanted to know what was going on so I could move ahead. I found a CD-1 price by searching the 928 International site. I know they don't have one in stock since I talked to them first. My offer was within the range you specified. If it wasn't good enough, give me something I can counter on. If it goes to Mark Anderson with the entire car, I am happy to buy from 928 International.
Hope it works out for you either way.
Regards,
JE

I got a lot of interest and a very few bids... so there is no price gouging as some wild imaginations are suggesting.
Look I am a 17 year Officer with the Marines I am working 12-14 hours a day operating the largest recruiting station in the country... and I consider my HONOR and INTEGRITY above reproach... because it is tested every day... IS YOURS....
The reason replies have stopped is because I am really wondering if in my attempt to make things fair and equitable to those interested I have created a monster...
The funny thing if this car was already at 928 intl or some where else... what would you be paying???
I just don't get it...
Still considering what I want to do with the car now... hence no replies...

Seriously people...
I know many of us do not want the list to fill up with advertisements for car wax for sale, "TrippleEdge" wiper blades, chia pets, etc...
But when a Rennlister wants to sell 928 parts, I think a lot of us would like to see what is for sale.
I also understand that the Rennlist is not set up for eBay style "bidding".
So I agree that parts should be listed with prices.
If someone wants to offer more, or less, it's their right to do so...
But don't be so harsh on people selling their stuff.
Because when it is something you would really want, or you have something to sell,
I think the idea of posting it here is a good one...
And I also agree that if you don't like the prices, or the posts, just do not click on them!
Just look at the posts on fixing bearings, superchargers, etc...
Just don't click on "for sale" posts, if they bother you.

Chris,
I am not sure I understand.
I stated that I am not happy with the way this sale was going and retracted my bid. I am not sure the term hypocrite would be called for.
I understand from your explanation you had the best intentions and are very busy.
Definetely didn't want to pick a war of words with you and wish you the best in regards to your car.
Cheers,
Sab.

Chris, perhaps you are accustomed to interacting with people who are trained to have manners. Dealing with the public as a vendor, you see some pretty rude behavior at the Bazar............
Pay no attention to the noise makers........you are doing some folks here a service and as long as you play by Randy's rules, you should feel good about making your stuff available to the Rennlist members first.
Ever seen a white sale at Filenes? In my youth I happen to observe one once when I was trying to buy a suit......It is the reason I never go shopping with my wife.......ever.............ever.

Agreed. I'm a cheapskate. I admit it. I look for a deal. What better place than to deal with friends and fellow owners here.
Then I go to the "Big Three".

So all bids are cancelled and we should go elsewhere. OK.

Well I am going to be pretty upset if Chris dosen't offer his car up for parts now. I was really looking forward to helping him disassemble it. I guess I'll just have to go over to 928int and volunteer for some disassembly work if he dosen't.
Sell on Chris........

Late to this discussion - my apologies.
