Default Ok, another issue, now a/c...

Hi my 92 gts airvon is not blowing cold air anymore. Last recharge 2 years ago. Heater valve seems to open close correctly (and with heater to full hot it warms up the cockpit really well ), no visual leaks on the compressor, I turned on a/c and after 10 minutes compressor was still pulling, no cold air whatsoever, drier inspection glass showed bubbles all the time a/c was on. I have the distinct impression the system is full enough to turn on the pressure switch, not enough to make cool air .. (apart from the fact that there's is a leak somewhere ... What do you think ?

Have you put your hands on the lines at the expansion valve? See if its hot on one side and cold on the other. I don't have a lot of experience with the 928 expansion valve, but its not much different (other than quality) than what I have messed with in the past. One of many possibility I suppose.

If you want to fix this yourself buy a solid set of gauges. Then buy a good 1.5cfm vacuum pump.

I am ready to rebuild compressor (all gaskets and seals, and obviously oil), I have a new expansion valve and drier bottle, all Orings and new charge valves new switches and compressor rubber hoses. I do not have gauges and vacuum pump. Those are for recharge or leak detection?

You will need gauges for Diagnosis, Charging, checking pressures. You will need a vacuum pump to remove moisture from the system after servicing or replacing parts.

Guys, one question:do you think that one of the problem may lie in the stuck expansion valve ? Thank you
Ps:got gauges and pressure is within specs, just some psi more than lower limit....
