Default Headlights

Pulled the pod and replaced the odometer gear. Put it all back together and everything is working except the headlights do not come on or move into position. The auxiliary lights (fog/side/rear) all work but not the headlights. Anything obvious I might have missed? Prior to mucking with the pod they were OK. I pulled the switch out and ensured it was connected well.

Thanks,
Steve

Did you check your fuses. If you didn't disconnect your battery prior to pulling switches and putting them back in there is a good chance that an exposed part of switch touched the aluminum on back side of pod when pulling it or putting it back inand blew the fuse.

Yes, fuses.

These switches easily short as you pull them out, if you have not disconnected the battery first.

The battery had been disconnected. Just checked and the 15 amp fuse for the headlamp motor (#27) is fine. Any other ideas? Which of the pins on the switch control the motor?

Thanks,
Steve

When I reinstalled my pods I had a similar issue. What I found was when installing the head light witch, the pins on the back of the connector pushed out and had no connection. Once I removed the switch and pushed the connections on everything was peachy.

With the lights manually opened and the ignition switch on the headlights work fine. When turned off they retract but they do not extend normally. Ideas? Could it be the relay or something I disrupted when removing the pod? I was also removing and cleaning all the ignition wires - spark plug, rotor, coil etc. Something there I might have loosened?

Thanks,
Steve

Re-seated the relay and the switch after cleaning. Seems to be working now.

Thanks for all the replies.
