blower motor inop
Took the car for a spin this weekend and the blower wouldn't run. Fuse checked ok and swapped relays with the horn which still works, so I assume the relay is ok. Ran a jumper from term 30 to 87 and the blower will run on all speeds, however it runs all the time. Also the A/C is inop even while jumpered.
I have a feeling that the ign switch isn't powering the relay but won't be able to check that until this evening.
Any advice is appreciated!
The start of the weekend was the first time since I had the car that everything on it worked, I guess it's a never ending battle.

Do you have 12 volts and ground at the blower motor? Start their first and work your way thru the circuit.
The blower motor is easy to remove, once the hood is taken off.

Hey Jeff
Usually the problem is an electrical part that goes in the duct just down wind from the blower itself, althought I have also had a blower go out. I think the electircal part is involved in speed control. You can tell which it is because if it is the electrical part the blower will still operate on the defrost setting. If that's it 928 intl has the part and can tell you all about it.

Ok, I'm a dumbass! After checking the motor, resistor pack and control panel with no results, my wife says " did you check the fuse?". I did check THE fuse #17, but I didn't check them all. Turns out #9 (mirrors) was blown. I guess the blower relay is activated by this circuit instead of the ignition switch? Oh well, at least now I have heat and AC.
I must remember to check ALL the fuses, I think they teach that in electrics 101. Even worse, my wife won't let me live it down.
Thanks to all for the replys
