Hi Guys,
After some back and forth discussions with Paul @ Autokennel and Mark Anderson, I am happy to say that this 928S is in the process of getting a new home in Hawaii. Can't say enough good things about Paul @ Autokennel. Very professional and easy to deal with. Thanks for the advice/insights from everyone who responded. Looking forward to enjoying and learning about this beautiful car and being a part of the 928 community.

Thank you! Never been as excited as I am now about a classic, but when I first saw the 928 in a magazine and in person at an auto show as a kid, I fell in love with it; right after I fell in love with the iconic 911 Turbo...

Great buy! Haggerty's valuation tool shows a concourse #1 car to be worth $44,000.
Soooo, You got a superb car from a well known and straight forward enthusiast.
Congratulations!

Very nice. I own an 86.5 that I got for a song (5k) as a bit of a basket case. It can take awhile to work out the bugs when it's like that, this one probably has all the bugs worked out so you're ahead of the game there. The power is fine, if you want more drop in a set of Porken chips and go for 330-350 hp. But stock is totally fine. No flappy valve or other 87 and up oddness and the look is classic 928.
For mine there is always a punch out list of little things, like upgrading the AC compressor switching system with an external in-line relay, fiddling endlessly with the AC system, fixing the various flap actuators which blow up, stuff like that. But the big stuff seems to be pretty minor, replace the ignition computers if the engine starts running really odd and keep an eye on the manifold vacuum from time to time.
Enjoy!

Congrats! I just bought a 1982 ROW 928S 5-speed in Pacific Blue, so I'm in the throes of the same excitement. I love the color of your new one. I think you bought a fantastic motorcar.
