Default S3 Fuel Pump Line Issues

Guys, Can't seem to get the line from the filter to the pump sealed properly. I have replaced the washers with copper, that didn't work. Replaced with alu...that didn't work. Removed the pipe and sanded the ends where the washers go and used new washers. Still leaking. Can fibre washers be used in this application? seen them used in high pressure diesel fuel rails so would think they'd be ok.

Cheers
Scott

its a common issue due to over tightening and this is usually from using old sealing washers ,
what happens is that the banjo end of the line will be bent out of plane think crushed, and nothing will work save for a new hose and new sealing washers.
NOTE always a good idea to order a new hose when fitting a fuel filter along with spare sealing washers.
NOTE fitting fiber washers might cause a leak as the filter will see pump pressure,
the washers could get soft and then spout.

NOTE its possible to resurface the sealing ends of the hose with some 400 grit paper and flat surface but this will weaken the sealing area,
and you may find the flat area is extending into the hose area,

Thanks Stan. I thought as much. I tried sanding it shiny smooth but to no avail. I think I'll take the filter and pump in the mounting bracket to my local hose Dr and see if they can come up with a better solution.

Some wrenches I kmow regard the S pipe as consumable, and stock them. I change filters on the bench so I can get at every thing easily and tigten things correctly - saves a lot of hassles.
