Idle upshift issue
hi all,
i have a 82 928 5-speed. The car runs great when cold. As soon as it warms up, when I upshift the rpms tank. They tank so fast it almost kills the engine and the cws light flickers but the engine catch’s itself and it doesn’t stall. At idle, only when warm, it feels like it wants to stall and the cws like flickers as the rpms drop low. If I tweek the gas, it will rev up just fine, when I let go of the gas the rpms tank and the engine almost dies. I can’t find a vacuum leak. I have found similar posts about this problem but not exactly and no solutions. Ideas?
thanks
Bill

I may have posted in your previous thread....can’t remember, but I had a similar issue with my 82, before final failure....after reworking everything...primary problem ended up being the relay for the fuel injection computer (not the fuel pump relay). It started off exactly like you describe.
