Default S3 Front Fuel Damper Q

My front fuel damper is leaking fuel into the vacuum hose. Can I temporarily plug the vacuum hose and the vacuum nipple on the damper?

Cheers
Scott

Scott,

That might be a pretty dumb thing to do.

Think of the fuel pressure you are running and think of the consequences if the temporary plug you stick in there blows out! If the plug you install can withstand the system fuel pressure you only have to worry about the consequences of not having the fuel damper

The damper is also there for a reason- as the injectors open and close rapidly there are all kinds of shock waves flying around so the damper is there to help prevent resonances. Cannot say much about what happens specifically on your MY but on the S4 even with the system working correctly there is clear evidence of the system leaning out at a very specific rpm and even with Sharktuner the issue cannot be fully resolved but can be corrected to some extent. Without the damper present that issue would most likely be amplified. Could such a scenario cause any damage?- I surely do not know that answer to that.
