Question Remove Door Rub Strip Bolt

How do get to the back of this fitting?

I can't see how to move the door seal out of the way, and I am really concerned about damaging it

Thanks

Look under the weatherstripping for an 8mm nut.

That bolt and now the rub strip is toast. The bolt is a part of the rub strip.

Start looking for a good one, unless you can epoxy it back into the hole.

Not only is the rub strip toast, it came off the car at high speed never to be seen again

I should have mentioned that I have a replacement rub strip with the bolt in tact

So I need to remove the old one and then fit the new strip

pull the rubber out of the groove then use a socket to remove the nut IIRC it might be a 7/6mm nut

Great thanks, I was really concerned about damaging the door seal, but it does pull out fine

Newly painted replacement door strip fitted, very pleased with the end result

My first ever attempt at painting, so be gentle!

(I probably need to do the mirrors next)

Not a bad effort. You can do my whole car if you like as it looks like your mirror. Whereabouts in London are you? (Im in Walton on Thames)

I'm a couple of minutes away from the Ace Cafe

I occasionally go to Porsche Night

Or perhaps I'll see you at the 928 Org UK 20th Anniversary later this year

"Tis but a scratch."

And the job on the rub strip looks pretty nice.
