Deck Plate pics for Blocks

The 944 Turbo board has some nice pics of deck Plate installation on 944 turbo block. probably be good for 928 blocks too. Possibly be same machining times twice.

Whoa, a lot of work was done. Do you know if they re heat treated the block. With all that welding this must of annealed the block.
The 944 Deck plate is fitted with no welding. Seems like a better way to go. Once "fitted", the Head holds it down, and the H/G seals as normal. I understand it also increases the block water pressure which increases the cooling efficiency. No more hot spots. Always a big problem with the 944 block. Maybe its the same with the 928 block also.

Those pics are a bit interesting M42. Isn't that block originally a siamesed one, and those new bores are wet liners? I think that was infered on that thread, no?
