I might look into adding a little something from the wheel well side and replacing the old padding under the hatch carpet and floor mats. But I won't be removing any interior body panels. I really love this car and some small tweaks for comfort are great but I don't want to go crazy. Unfortunately the one thing I do need to do is replace the chintzy cd player someone installed.

I bought a refurb blaupunkt tape deck on ebay, I might make an attempt to switch that out on my own. If I'm gonna drown out road noise I feel I must do it as the designers intended. "performance"
Hi Harvey,

IF you want something that sounds really good I have a couple of CD-2 stereos. IIRC, may not be exactly year correct by a year or 2,, but they sound very much superior to the earlier models.

Cheers,

Dave

Try a pair of ear plugs- they work wonders if you are sensitive to tyre noise.

I see one of These, very cool. I don’t know if the current stereo is bypassing the amp, oreaht the harness situation is. Do these utilize the amp or have their own?

Just to update (so many threads end without a conclusion to the original inquiry) I ended up getting the conti extreme contact sports all the way around in 225/50. They look good and feel good . They are somewhat quieter than the 11 year old Fuzions.

I am not going to remove the interior panels I am going to stuff some rockwool in the cavities above the wheels via the panels in the fenders and I did buy some one “Cascade VB-2HD Damping Sheet 13.9 sq. ft.” From amazon for under the mats and under the hatch carpet.
