928 sitting for the divorce....
D I V O R C E. Soooo for the last year my car has been languishing. My soul was not far behind.... Now I start my 1986 5 speed and move to her new home. Well, she runs a little rough... stumbles and stutters. I'm guessing old gas as a low hanging fruit and a good place to start. Soooo what is the easiest way to drain out half a tank of gas safely? I'll also replace fuel filter, change oil, spark plugs, and clean my grounds. She ran pretty well before I gave her the cold shoulder. Tell me what I should do to help make my baby right! Thanks, Brian

Brian,
Here is an easy guide for accessing that hose, should make it clear on access, location etc.

Sorry to hear about the big life event. Nothing fun about that. But you can kill two birds with one stone - salve the soul and fix the rough running shark - by driving it! These cars hate to sit. Once you get the gas situation under control, more frequent driving will wake it up to its former glory. Definitely clean the grounds, including the big one in the lower right engine bay to the block. The other things are maintanence items and will help too.
Good luck with everything.

You can get a fuel line pinch off tool, or just use some needle nose vice grips and a piece of leather or rubber to protect the fuel line, pinch it off and then remove the line, drain it into a gas can, re-pinch to stop the flow.
If you can't get a large container under, then use a smaller one and transfer it over to a bigger, and repeat.
