Really! Hm. I seem to be missing that, could explain AC performance issues if the front fan is pulling engine heated air back through the condenser....

Now I need to find one. Hm.

I haven't reinstalled my belly pan yet. Didn't give much thought to it from a performance perspective. Wondering about what real benefit the pan provides other than keeping some road debris off the front of the engine.

It keeps stuff from getting sucked into the accessories along with directing the air from the radiator so it doesn't get sucked back in through the front again.

It works alright but I wish someone knew how to make the DEVEK adapters to fit the later belly pans on an early car.

Well if you don't want it I'd be happy to take it off your hands :-) On my 944S the belly pan makes a big difference in the AC performance at stops.

They did a lot of changes post 86. So were the really early cars using the same small pans?

Sorry, I was just waiting a bit after the TB/WP before I re-installed it to make sure all was good.

S4 had much, much bigger belly pans.

The early cars had similar, but not quite identical pans.

That is interesting. DEVEK was before my time, but it seemed as if they had some good ideas.
So there was a kit to put an S4 pan on an S3?

Does anyone have pics of the hardware from back in the day? Maybe we (I) could fabricate something.

What Crumpler said! First I'm hearing of a kit to put an S4 pan on a S3. That would be sweet!
