Default Front Brake Cooling

On my 1991 S4 I have an aluminium cooling air deflector on the front nearside ( passengers sit here in UK), and just the remains of one on the drivers side. Just a small disc of aluminium, like a washer around the bolt is left in place.

What is the thinking on the Forum: for normal, (sane) and legal speed street use can I delete this one still there? Or do I need to fashion a replacement for the missing one.

Both were dammaged on my car too.

I removed both.

Never saw any difference.

Don't track my car and drive it quite smoothly.

Porsche felt it was needed. A used one ( or pair) from 928 Intl are not that expensive. You may rarely use your brakes hard, but when you do, you want them to work to the maximum they can.

Like Ken said^^ I went through the trouble of swapping in an "S" front bumper cover (pre 87) along with ductwork, brackets, etc., to keep brakes cooler on spirited runs, etc.02 T
