Default Temp II sensor readings

Brand new sensor and I’m getting the following readings.

In car at 20c 740 ohms on both pins
Out of car at 20c 720 ohms
In 80c water 250 ohms
In 5c water 900 ohms
In freezer for 30 minutes 1k ohms

WSM has 0c as 4-6k ohms.

So from what I’m seeing the hot readings are ok but cold readings are way off. Car does start when cold but not as quick and is a bit rough.

Is it possible for a new sensor to be bad out of the box? I have a new one on the way and will bench test both. Just wondering if anyone else has had similar readings.

Not sure I can be of much help except to offer another set of data points for you. Original Temp II readings (tested in engine S2 Euro, running well):

10C= 6.4k Ohms
43C= 1.3k Ohms
54C= 1.1k Ohms
77C= 640 Ohms
82C= 620 Ohms
85C= 550 Ohms

Good luck with your troubleshooting.

Thanks, It will be interesting to compare the new sensor when it arrives. Either I got a bad sensor or the car killed the current new sensor. The other issue is I keep getting a fault code in the EZK (Temp 2 sensor short or break). I hope it's just the sensor, if not I may have to run new wires for the Temp 2 from the sensor to the computers. If there is an issue with wiring it is intermittent as my readings at the LH/EZK match the readings I get at the sensor.

As well we are planning to replace the LH, the coils and ignition amps as a preventative measure (everything else is new).
