Default Quick Park Brake Q

Hi All,

Have the rear suspension out the of the S3 and started to put it all back together. Got new 76mm wheels studs in place and have new bearing and hub installed now. Can all the park brake shoes etc be installed before the hub assembly is put back on the car?

Cheers
Scott

I would wait until everything is back in and in proper position then install the parking brake assembly.

I Agree with Sean, and to add,
posting a picture of what your working on will offer more clues to answer your question.
Hopefully you didnt forget the E brake backing plate before pressing in the hub flanges.

Ok...Thanks gents.

Stan, Nope....I didn't forget that. They are expensive bearings to ruin by a rookie mistake.

Lol. I totally forgot the cir-clip on the bearing on mine before pressing in the hub. That was a $200.00 goof, glad it was on my own car. I'm sure the copious amounts of beer didn't help either.

That Cir Clip is an event in itself ,
At the shop we had what looked like bolt cutters, they were a huge Cir clip removal tool.
This thing looked like it was made just for this job to install the rings on a 928 hub
So everyone wanted to put that damn ring in and use that tool .

But working with two torches, heating the hub carrier and freezing the flange,
the frozen bearing goes into the hot hub carrier almost like it was a vacuum
the Cir-clip Ring goes in.
and then the phone rings, and we are working fast ,

That E brake shield was sitting pretty on the roll cart waiting to be put into position.....

the half shaft stub axle went in so nice,
then the hub flange,
then the nut drew it in with the air gun,
and I was spinning the hub to let it cool;
Hey is this shield for the other side? ###4%%%$$####
