Superlift owners ?
Any one own this lift, I think I am going to order it this week, It's a lot more expensive than most, But it seems the most reliable.

If the 4 post with platform style is will work for you, that's not a terrible price. Just remember that you have to do a lot of extra work to get at any suspension/wheel components, and even then the access will be poor.
Have you looked at 2 post assymetrical frame lifts? A very nice unit from Rotary can be had for ~$1800, installed for about $100 more. And you can always resell a Rotary lift. No, I don't sell them.
Just depends on what your needs are.
Good luck,
Greg

I see your in Winchester. Cool!
That's about 1.5 hrs away from my shop. We need to get together and play 928 or 911 some day. I think that would make you the 2nd closest 928 to me here in Pa.

The single post one looks interesting. I would always be afraid of it falling over.I heard that the two post lifts are hard to get in and out of car because the post is usually blocking door. The reason i like the Superlift is because it has the widest entrance that I have seen. About 6" wider than the others.

My (former) business partner and I bought 3 for our shop last year. ~$6000 for all 3 installed - though they were 6000# assym IIRC. (And I did the hardwire for the electric which may have been worth $200 per unit, so there's some variance there I guess)
As to the post, it does not block ingress/egress, at least on a 928. And it's bolted into the floor, so it won't (barring a catastrophic concrete failure anyway) fall over. As before, it just depends on what suits your needs.

Here's another option with good prices. I myself am looking at the low profile two post lift ($1995),for my new home garage/workshop . You can always add the asymmetrical option for easy door opening.

Is there an issue with asymmetrical option over long periods of time considering that the suspension would be sitting unsprung rather than the car sitting on it's wheels?

This should not be an issue with a two-post since it is not intended to be used as a storage or parking lift. That aside, I am not aware of any concerns with storing the car with the suspension unloaded.
In the past, for winter storage, I have unloaded the suspension a couple of inches by lifting the car onto home-made pedestals under the lifting pads to alleviate flat spotting.

I was just curious where you got that good price at. My local Rotary dealer had the 7k assy for 2800 and the 9k for 3600. 1800 is a steal.
I did buy a used Rotary assy 7K for 1700 last year but don't have it up yet. I've been using my Superior 4 post for stuff lately. I'd like to have my old 9k unit back. What a nice lift.
As to the storage questions re: 2 post style, I had my 79 928 convertible on my 9k for 10 months straight as I redid the engine. Not a problem for long term use. Just make sure the concrete is up to spec.
