Where does this go?

I found this bracket lying loose inside the oval drainage flap in the engine firewall can someone tell me where its supposed to go? thanks

It's a shim for the hood hinges.

You might need it to align the hood.
Left to right.

Thanks. Must have been when the garage replaced the engine under the previous owner. Judging by the dirt, the haphazard cable routing and the rust encrusted nuts I found lying in the valley between the cylinder banks I don’t think attention to detail was a priority!
