Engine Wiring Harness through firewall routing

Default Engine Wiring Harness through firewall routing

Please see pics below.

?#1. Is the engine main wire harness bolted to the back of the block or somewhere else? See pic

?#2 does the harness go higher over some of those hoses/metal tube?
I should have taken more pictures when pulling!

any help would be greatly apreciated!

I am thinking the harness clamp is for the starter wire close to the starter. Maybe it fell off and I thought it went on the main engine harness.

Your 928 is pre-'87. I don't have many pre-'87 pictures and none of how the FI harness is fastened to the block.

However, the to-firewall routing should be the same as for '87+.

This is the way the fuel injection harness should route to the firewall:
