928 Coin / medal
Does anyone know the origin of these? The ones that came with Christophorus were 2 sided but these are not. Were they meant to be mounted somewhere?

They were given to owners of 1978 cars when they bought them at their dealer. That is if the dealer even gave the coins to the new owner.
Most of the time they just kept them to themselves.

I thought they came with the Porsche factory calendars?
But I've also read that the "one sided" version is a unique "Car of the Year" advertising piece.
Some hold that they were given to new owners of 78's by the selling dealer.
The world hangs in the balance awaiting the solution to this mystery!

Mark - I'd love to have one - the one sided if you have them. But any with 78 on it would be perfect. Do you have some for sale? If so, dibs in here!!

I'm also thinking a perfect mounting point for the one sided would be in that space between the window switches.

Getting coins like that made is easy and cheap. Just do a Google search for 'challenge coins'. I've had several made over the years for military units I've been with.

Very nice coin I'd love to have one....Maybe I should check E-bay for one...I did find something I think is cool there: a 1983 un-circulated gold proof 1 Deutsche Mark coin on E-bay for $8.00!!

I suggest a limited edition run: faces on the coins of all the 928 fatcats....Mark, Roger, Greg, Sean, Rob, etc., etc...Kibort...
