79 clutch throw out bearing-Original
greetings,
rebuilding my '79 5 speed, I have purchased a replacement throw out bearing. My bearing housing is original, lacking the squared tabs on either side that are visible on the replacement bearing for the same year offered by vendors here. What should I expect in rebuilding and installing this original, round, no tabs on the side throw out bearing unit?

posting pictures will assist in correct diagnosis.
That said you want the 3 pieces to fit properly TOB, guide tube, and release arm.
The release arm has been superseded a few times as well as the guide tube and the TOB so only correct era parts will fit properly.
928 INTL may have good used parts.

How do the other pieces stack on the new throw out bearing? Any pictures would be appreciated. i.e., which way does the flex washer flex? toward or away from the TOB?
