Default Wooden Porsche Emblem

I thought I'd share this with yall. I like to woodwork and I am building this emblem for a buddy of mines garage for xmas. its takin me about 10 hours or so so far. Its made out of birch and stands about1 ft 10in tall. I am in the process of painting it now . I had used my drimel to carve out the design in the pic as you see it. Well post new pic once painted. Anyway here it is.

Jack,

That crest is a testament to the talented members of this board. Are you going to use the Porsche colors, or are you going to put tile on it, like this,

Great Job

Steve,

That is a great example of what we call rubble or mosaic mural. Must have taken hours/days. We have customers where I work that do that for a vocation. Yours is particularly good in that the inner shield is so well outlined/defined. I've been toying with the idea of doing one but have decided that it would be quicker to have the design fired on to a 12x12" ceramic tile. Now I will have to rethink this.

Envious,

Dennis

Dennis,
I don’t have the time or talent to make that crest. I found a site in the UK that sells them. It was cheaper for me; time wise and faster to buy it. There is a girl on the 944 board that is making one out of glass. I was told tile last a life time

I am off to the shop to work on a valve body.

I dont know How much I would sell them for. It taken me about 10 hours or so to get paint on it. All so thought of a really dark stain for the black areas of the emblem to show the wood grain and continue with the yellow/gold and red for other parts. Also thought of taking a silhouette of a 928 and crave it into wood.
