sound absorber for firewall
Any idea or advice on something i could use to replace the sound absorber against the firewall instead of using the original part ?
I found one at one of the 3big at more than half price but with the shipping fees and custom fees it's discouraging
any help ?

If you want the good stuff and have the cash to back it up... Try these guys, it's wonderful stuff. Haven't used it in my car yet, but I have used it at work. I was seriously thinking of making a new hood insulation out of it. Depending on how close some of it gets to the engine, you may want to add a cheaper thin layered heat shield over top of it just to protect your investment.
I don't particularly agree with the frequency response that they seem to think is needed for vehicles though... I do some work with marine ruggedization and the main frequencies we try to control are in the 0-75Hz range. That's mostly so the stuff doesn't fall apart, but they're created by machinery which is most definetly making most of it's acoustic noise in the sub 1kHz range.

For a cheaper solution you can try these guys too, but understand it's a much lower class of material.
