putting 245s on 7 inch rims means the beads are pushed in at the rims.....looks odd and does not handle as well ! The 245 being around 9.6 inches wide really looks pinched in on a 7 inch rim.

I wasn't sure, thanks. Tirerack did have that size come up as an alternate for OE rims.

So, is the advice to stay with 225/50 all around with OE rims ?

Correct or get some S-4 8 inch wide rear wheels But then you would need to remove your rear wheel spacers and shorten the studs. Running 7 and 225s allows for proper tire rotation too

Thanks. Unless a nice set of 17's or 18's come up in the next week or so, I'll just put the 225's on for now.

BFG G-force. 225-50-16/245-50-16.

Nice ride, quiet, good in the wet, and the price is pretty good.

When the 15x7 phone dials were offered that was a comfort option being fitted with 215 x 60x 15 tires. That "extra" sidewall 60 aspect ratio putting more rubber between the tread and the rim.
So yes running the 245x50x16 should "ride well" with the taller sidewall just NOT handle as well and lift the rear axle an extra 3/4 inch off the ground.
