Default Thread that has dimensions of door vapor barrier?

I'm wrapping up passenger door work (replacing upper and lower seals, fixing regulator, replacing plastic tube guides, etc.) and discovered at some point a previous owner must've removed and tossed the vapor barrier. There is a thread that has a vapor barrier template with dimensions to be cut from a clear shower curtain, but I cannot find the thread. (I did use SEARCH under "vapor barrier" and but did not see that specific thread).

If anyone recalls it or has it saved as a favorite, please post a link. Trying to wrap this project up over Christmas vacation.

Thanks.

I don't recall a thread with specific dimensions.

What I did was take a piece of plastic that was oversized for the door, lay the edge along the top of the door and cut it to fit.
I had a helper hold it in place while I cut it.

Glued it into place with contact cement. Weldwood is suggested.

It makes a huge difference in the sound of the door closing.

Here you go, start with 48 x 18 and whittle down from there:

That one was a little OCD, even for me. Must have had an extra Diet Coke that day.

You can skip a step by going to Home Depot or similar and getting sticky-backed carpet protection plastic sheet (on a roll).

Like what you'd lay down if you had a team of workers tracking in and out of the house for a renovation, or maybe even like an open house type thing?

White translucent plastic sheet with adhesive backing, looks and sticks just like the OEM stuff.

I just use sections of Dynamat over the holes.

Rob, Thanks! That's the thread. I'm saving this now in my "928" folder.

Spencer, that's a cool idea. I had never heard of adhesive liner before. I already bought the clear shower curtain liner, but may use your method when I do the driver's side.
