Default FS: 89 Front Engine Wiring Harness

I think it's for an 89. The labels are a bit faded, but I've been told it was never installed. It came in a box of parts when I bought my 928 earlier in the year. I can't verify manufacturer, age, or any other details. $300 shipped CONUS or best offer.

I think it’s for ‘89: it has two spades for the temp gauge sender (‘87 - ‘89) rather than the 2-pin Bosch connector and three pins for the oil pressure sender (‘89 - ‘95) rather than two ring terminals. Thus ‘89. But it’s missing the big rubber plug that should be bonded around those three pins.

This is not a Porsche harness?

Thanks for the info. It was in a box of parts when I bought my 89, so it would make sense. I was told it came from 928 Motorsports, but I have no idea for sure.

Really had no idea how to price this, but evidently I missed the mark. How about $300? Wife would be very happy for car parts to actually leave the house...

Is this a confirmed harness for an 89?

Can't say I've ever seen a pink wire in a 928, but I've been wrong before.

Sure you have, they're commonly found in Clifford alarm harnesses, Audiovox radio adapters, and other things you've had to remove or replace.

I've decided to not sell the harness because I can't verify it. I just replied to a PM to DrBob about the wiring harness and what he saw in the pictures. Here's my reply to him:

Wow...thanks for all of that. I bought a car in February that was literally filled with parts. The seller told me that he had a brand new engine wiring harness included in one of the boxes that he had never gotten around to have installed. Ray Munsch brought the car back to life for me but, since he didn't know the age of the harness, he didn't want to use it. It is my first 928, so I didn't know any of the tell-tale signs that you mentioned above. Sounds like someone further up the chain wasn't playing above board. The last thing I would want to do is dupe anyone in the community. I'll halt the sale immediately. Thanks again for the information. I really appreciate it.

Sorry for the churn.

why not send a pic to Carl at 928 Motorsports and see if this is his product? Maybe he can tell you more about it.

I'm familiar with your car then. Ray and I talk on a frequent basis and I believe that the harness now in your car came from me as this one was removed from it. Ray is great people and will never steer you wrong.
