Just to follow up on this. The whole front of my car is now poly bushed. Powerflex, and Superpro suspension bushes with Delrin rack bushes. I also replaced all the ball joints, top and bottom and rack ends, both inner and outer. I'm riding on 18x8 ET65's on the front with 234/45/18 Pirelli's. The wheel alignment was done by a specialist who spends a lot of time setting up Carrera Cup cars. When he first got under the car he asked about the bushes. I told him all poly. He then went on to say he'd never driven a 928 that had had this done to it and it would be interesting to see how it aligned. He was quite amazed that after the first alignment there was no more adjustments needed at all. It came out perfect with the first setting. He also said he'd never driven a 928 that felt so rock solid and planted, yet just wafted over bumps at low speed.
I just can't believe how good the car drives. It is so comfortable just loafing along, but when I went for a fang through my favourite twisty sections of hills near my place, it was exceptional. The car just responds to minor inputs so well it's spooky. Some corners where I thought I was a going a tad to quick turned out to be a non-event. The car just went through them effortlessly. In fact i thought, "sh$t..I could've gone through that much quicker". Ease off the throttle a tiny bit and the front pulls in even tighter. I can't wait for Powerflex to have the rear bush kit complete. I will absolutely be pulling the rear apart again. I've owned quite a few 928's now, and a few well looked after low km cars, but none have driven as good as this. If have to pull it all apart in three years because the bushes are screwed, then so be it. The way it drives it's well worth it. Oh...and not a squeak to be heard.

Thanks for the update. Almost a year into the expected three year life, your results sound very encouraging.

I need to to redo mine, at a bit over 100k and 20 years. Good to know there are options.

Hey Scott,

Good to hear, I have the bushes also, they are supposed to last a very long time but might need to be re-lubed in three years as you mentioned. In fact re-lubing may stop them wearing out. What have they said about the rear bushes?

Greg,

As I am aware the lubing is only to get them into position - the rotation is achieved within the bush itself. The proof of the pudding will be in the eating and Scotts initial feedback is very promising. I fitted the Superpro bushes on my upper arms at the start of this year and I am thinking of doing the lower arms in a couple of months time. I have a good feeling they will last for many years and for sure way longer than any 3 years- let's hope I am right.

The Superpro upper A arm bushes did not cure my little squeal- turned out all I needed to do was to lubricate the sway bar bushes [ahem!] . Those do move within the mounting bush- and they need to be lubricated!
