The car did not sell. It's re-listed but with no auction. $7,300 OBO: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1985-Porsch...561326?vxp=mtr

I got my bid in, actually an offer. I know its way too high but if he takes the $11.00 we will both make out well.

Considering that the ad claims that the trans was "rebuilt like a year ago", it sure doesn't look very clean.

Considering that the ad claims "all suspension was renew", the bolts on the rear look beat up & rusty.

Since there's a new battery that cost $260, I'd maybe go $12. $12.50 tops.

The seller countered me at $6000 for the lowest he could go.

This isn't the first carburetor conversion I've seen on a 928. Curious if anyone knows of dyno figures for that type of setup? Big power loss or big power gain?
Every time I see a carbed 928 I can't help think of the Chevy Vega (Cosworth)...remove the EFI system, slap a pair of Webers on it and basically double your HP to 200+.

IIRC, a number of years ago, there was a 16V 928 with a crude intake manifold fabricated from plumbing and sheet metal. It had an ancient Rochester 2GC on top. No idea how well it ran.

This one by chance?
Can't tell much other than it does run and move.

No. It was blue. And actual plumbing pipe. Fairly small diameter on the "spider legs".

It sort of looked like a bad copy of the 16v spider intake.

Seriously ugly.

I searched around, but couldn't find it.

Not quite. That one has a Holley 4160 mounted directly on top of the plenum. As Wisconsin Joe said, plumbing pipe fittings, small diameter. Crude and fugly.

DING DING DING!!! Winner!

Found it:
