Things to Do while S4 intake manifold is off?
Hi All
Does anyone have a list (or suggestions) on preventative maintenance items, interval maintenance items and/or things to check while the intake manifold is removed from the car?
My car is a 01' with 116K miles on it
Thanks!
John

Roger has a handy spreadsheet that he can send to you which covers almost all of the bases. I'm just getting mine back together after this odyssey. A lot of items are such a pita to reach after the intake is on that common wisdom seems to be "replace them while you are in there".
Save some money for fuel lines, I also replaced my regulator/damper array because I've had them fail before and everything is already apart at that point.
Be sure to read and take seriously the warnings about stripping and powder coating if you go that route.

I think he meant '91. Looks Amazon Green and that's mostly a '91 color.
OP:
Replace all rubber items into and under intake.
Remove water bridge and oil filler neck and replace all rubber in there.
Replace Idle/WOT switch, Speed Sensor, Flappy Vaccum actuator.
Clean ISV.
Have Mass-air Sensor rebuilt.
Have injectors cleaned and balanced (service will include new o-rings (etc.) for injectors.)
Replace fuel lines (4 in engine bay.)
Clean grounds at back of block.
If you decide to remove the flappy assembly and/or throttle plate assembly for any reason you'll probably need new spindle bearings. 928 Specialists have them in a kit.
Find Dwayne's intake R&R thread.
