So I know that the majority of 928s were automatics but was it true that the majority of pre S cars were manuals?

^^ About half pre 1980 were manuals, and all other years are shown in the second table (first post) of Errkas master vin thread .... https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...in-thread.html

In general terms the proportion of manuals diminished as the years progressed, which you'll see in the table, with some market differences between US and ROW.

Here are production percentages by year by transmission, derived from Erkka's work.

Never noticed before how much rarer ROW GTS 5-speeds are.

Also an odd dip in 5-speed percentage for US 1984 models. Only the '94 and '95 ROW 5-speeds are more rare. Hmmm...who would have thought?

This is interesting information. Less 1980 Autos than Manuals. Finally something interesting about my year of car! I'll still hang onto it and look manual to go along side.

So I have an '86.5 5-speed. I don't suppose anyone knows how to get that breakdown?

Obviously, it's less than 805...its odd though, because on here and on various for sale sites, I've seen a few of these...
