Default Cleaning the rear sunroof drains

Quick question: On my 86.5 928S I've noticed a bit of water drip when parked nose-up on the driveway. Running the sunroof back and pouring a bit of water in the channels shows that the passenger rear drain is clogged. However I don't see where/how it comes out under the car to get a wire in there to unplug it, and it looks like the hole is blind from the top.

Any idea how to clear the rear drains?

Thanks!

Rear sunroof drains drain into the channel between the hatch gasket and hatch opening on each side. Open the hatch and you will see a little hole on each side at the top.

Oh, all the way back there. That's much easier, will check today and thanks!

Meantime just grabbed a set of rear hatch struts for $20 on Ebay. Why are there also struts for $520 as well? :-)

You can by a single wrench on Amazon for $32k. Money laundering?

Picture of drain (hole in middle of picture, not lower small hole for (missing trim) screw.)

I see it, interesting.

Now for the fun bit: When I poured water in the driver's side rear of the sunroof channel with the car pointing front-end up the hill the water drained out the middle of the car around where the jack point was. Is this a T drain, or is the water supposed to just run back then through the hole and down the metal side along the hatch lid?

Since you have an 86.5 the body-in-white is more similar to an S4 than an S. That said, I'm batting 0 today on answering pre-S4 questions.

I don't follow. The Jack points are not near the middle of the car. They are inboard of each wheel. Do you mean the front jack point or the rear jack point for where the water's draining?

The front drains drain directly below where the A-pillar meets the fender. They drain down the front of the fire wall and so, yes, water from the front drains will end up near the front jack point.

Is this a T drain, or is the water supposed to just run back then through the hole and down the metal side along the hatch lid?
On an S4, the rear drains (pictured above) empty into the 'hatch channels.' Water flows down the channels to the corners of the hatch and then drains between the body and the bumper cover to the ground.

Christopher,
The sunroof front drain holes drain down through a tube just in front of the door hinge area and down through the fender behind the front jack points.
