If that was enough to identify it in PET that would help. ;-)
Could it be 928 612 874 00?

Yes, that's the cap for the +12V post there, on any car with ABS. NLA, new. Mark will occasionally get a car that has still has one. Definitely a good idea to cover that screw, I zapped across it once with a screwdriver to the fender lip- lots of sparks....

Hi Nate-
LOL, yes. I went out to the garage last night to grab the one I have to take a pic to send to you to ask if you wanted to reproduce them, but the garage has swallowed my camera. I'll put it in the mail to you tonight. Still at the Henderson address?

I got a quote from Hans to build a mold and per piece for the initial run. Mold is expensive ( no one is surprised ) that cost of the run not so much. While he thought they could be printed he questioned if they would hold up in the engine bay.

There are a lot of high temp/oil/petro chemical resistant materials now available that would have no problem in this environment. One guy over on the 944 forum has been running some generic abs parts under hood for over a year now with reportedly no issues. I think what make this part even more ideal is that is not stressed under any load. A 3D printed option using FDM would be very affordable. A resin based 3D part would also work well and look much smoother if someone was concerned about aesthetics albeit a bit more expensive to print.

Nate if you make these I'll buy 1 - 2 dozen of them assuming they
a) look reasonably close to the stock part.
b) aren't priced in double-digits.
9 out of 10 928s I see here have these missing.

I was thinking of playing around with 3D printing these (once I'd worked through my backlog (maybe about a year or two from now ))

Do note that the material used needs to live in the engine bay and needs to be non-conductive!

As that connection is a non-fused always on connection to the battery it is a GREAT idea to cover it, even w/ tape when the cover is missing
I'll buy a few Nate when you get around to make them, thanks!
