Love It!!!!! Easily one of the best 928 videos of all time!

I've wasted many, many days sitting back watching Harry's adventures.

Nice work Joel (and Alex) - we talk about carrying the torch for the 928 community, you ran off with the torch and lit an Olympic sized fire with it!!!!

Beautiful car too, love that color.

Great video and awesome 928 Joel, very enjoyable. Good to see a video where there is not a bunch of misinformation thrown around about the car.

Great point!

That is why Harry's videos are so enjoyable. They are more like a casual conversation about the car.

Great vid. There's one moment where you look a little alarmed by the speed. You must have been on some roads that Harry knows like the back of his hand.

Hey Joel, just wanted to say well done!

I’ve sent the link to several friends that just needed to gentle push, so to speak, to acquire their first 928’s. I think this will help put them over the edge.

Also, great back story on the car.
I enjoy the fact that you made the performance mods you needed, to make it live up to its true potential.
And also the honesty that you came close to selling it and are glad you didn’t — we have all been there .

Best, Dave H.

Agreed, no claiming they catch on fire easy or referring to them as expensive to maintain. positive information with a good story.

Just got around to watching this today. Very well done and love the sound in the video. Glad Harry wasn't short shifting. I think this is a big step foward for the 928. Harry is one of the most respected auto journalists in the world and you could clearly see how much he enjoyed the car. Just the fact that he chose the 928 out of 1000 entries say volumes. Plus with R&T picking up the story and Automobile mags recent article (http://www.automobilemag.com/news/cl...2-porsche-928/) the mainstream exposure keeps ramping up every month. Very oool.

Thats a great video, the engine sounds great.
That car looks just like my 79 ,
same color but it had 175K miles and black leather and it was tight as a drum.

I am on the lookout for another 85 Euro

He has been buying future classics lately to fill up that barn. I wouldn't be surprised if there is manual S4 or GT in there soon.

I have been so-so-tempted to buy the car from Joel on quite a few occasions. It is such a good honest car.

I remember when I helped Joel install the adjustable Konis + Hypercoils. He was already smitten with his £2.75k purchase with zero maintenance records and untold number of owners. Yet underneath was totally oil and rust free. Every nut and bolt was easy to undo and underneath the road grime, we were greeted with the typical yellow zinc on all fasteners. Luck of the brave I guess...

Well done to both the car and Joel, and I must say I am pretty pleased that I have played a small part in making it happen

Next instalment - Joel and I have a mini resto project - a 2 owner from new Baltic Blau very late 1989 S4 5-spd digi dash with Sports Seats, Sports Suspension and LSD. I will be doing all the work except spraying. Still very tempted to back-date it to an early car with rear GTS arches as I have all the parts available, but Joel has put his foot down, so back to as it left the factory we shall go...

Expect to see a thread here very shortly.

P.S. A certain Mr Chris Harris has just bought an Amazon Green 1987 S4 5-spd with caramel sports seats and is apparently loving it. Also, it appears that Hans Mezger was involved in the development of the S4 engine, since it was him who recommended Chris to sell his 16v and buy an S4

Who is Chris Harris?

Are you sure Mezger was involved with the S4 32v? If so, we should somehow get him to write a book about it!

Chris Harris - one of the current Top Gear presenters, a motoring journalist, a pretty handy racer both with historics and current GT3 cars

Chris Harris said on his twitter that he sold his S2 5-spd to buy the S4 5-spd on the advice of Hans Mezger who told him a thing or two about the S4 engine over the S2.

The S4 heads are straight off the 962 - combustion chamber shape, valve size, port shape + dimensions, so I would not be surprised if the above is true.

Also, the 928 4-valve heads at my end have been seen by a few guys, who know a thing or two, and remarked that for stock heads they are hard to beat, yet they see all sorts of exotics and proper motorsport machinery down to old Group B cars, 996/7/1 Cup cars, 800bhp Evo 9s, 1300bhp GTRs etc...
