Default Supercharging Parts Almost Ready and Pricing

I have had quite a few inquiries lately so here is an update on the 32v parts.

I am pretty sure that the foundry poured my manifolds today. They should go to heat treat tomorrow. Machine work should begin Friday. Powder coating is next week, and they should be finished.

Most other parts will be finished before 1st of year.

Pulleys may take untill mid Jan.

We'll install on a 86.5 within a month.

I'll dyno a roots setup within a few weeks.

I may have 5 or so combined left to sell. If they go quick I'll make more soon.

My parts, manifold, pulleys, air intake inlet etc. will be right at $1705.00 total.
My intercooler systems will cost $585 (up to 440 HP) or $935 (up to 700hp).
I am only selling my parts. I'll give a list of where to find everything else at the best price. And, more money may be saved on off the shelf parts by doing group purchases.

This will give you an idea of total cost. It all depends on what you want to do.

Minimum A: You could probably spend as little as $2250 and have a running 4 psi system that is fully upgradeable. This particular system would not be intercooled, would use your stock injectors (85-86), have a standard vortech rising rate FPR, would not have an AF ratio meter, and have a used Jag/Eaton M112. I ran this basic system for over 1000 miles but with an A/F ratio meter. (I also used #30 injectors only b/c the S4 has 19# stock)

Minimum B: However I suggest you spend a minimum total of $3150 . What differs from above is using a rebuilt Jag Eaton M112, BEGI FPR instead of vortech, get stock injectors cleaned(85-86), add bypass valve, add A/F ratio meter. You may get up to 5-6 psi safely this way.

----$2250 to $2650 (Minimum A) buys 4psi non-intercooled bare bones minimalistic sytem (The lower price is if you are lucky enough to find a used blower for $200 like I did) Add $325 for S4*. My parts account for $1705 of this.

-----$2750 to $3150 (Minimum B) buys up to 5-6psi non intercooled. Add $325 for S4*. My parts account for $1705 of this.

-----$3440 to $3840 buys up to 8-9 psi. This uses #30 injectors and the lower priced intercooler. Add $100 for S4*. My parts account for $1705 and $585.

-----$3850 to $4250 buys up to 10-11-12 psi. This uses #36 injectors and the higher priced intercooler. Add $100 for S4*. My parts account for $1705 and $935. This would be about as high as you could push the the Jag/Eaton M112.

The next step up will be using the Whipple 2300AX twin-screw instead of the roots. The 2300AX is $2000 from superchargers4less.com. We may get it for less w/ a group purchase. Substitute $2000 in the prices above instead of the $200 to $600 for the Jag/Eaton M112 to get the price w/ the Whipple.
What will the 2300AX do for you? I made about 440CHP using the lower priced IC at 7psi w/ no tuning at all. I suspect it will make around 20psi on the 32 valve. It has been used in kits on other engines making 750hp.

My systems use a modified used Holda GL 1000 radiator as the heat exchanger in front of the radiator. I price them at $100 after I modify them. You can save $70 off my intercooler system prices listed above by buying one on e-bay and modifying it yourself (drilling and soldering).

"85-86 have #24 injectors stock.

* The "87+ need larger injectors since they come w/ #19 and they need the 85-85 throttlebody. The #30 injectors cost $225 and the 85-86 throttle body is $100

If you have questions ask away.

you should find an old 16v beater and adapt your system to it, there would be a lot of interest!

Andy,
im not sure if you got anywhere on a 16v set up since your still working on the 32v. I have an idea for a air to air intercooler set up.This is more or less for the non a/c users like myself. have a smaller in width radiator custom made (you can get this done for less than 600 from alot of places out of aluminum but a liitle thicker to make up the width loss alittle bit). Then mount a intercooler in front of the radiator where the condensor would be with intercooler lines coming around the sides of the radiator.Sounds good?

You're pouring manifolds?!
This should be very interesting. I'd love to hear more about that.

The Jag/Eaton parts will be close to the stock intake and cam cover color. The Whipple stuff will be black, since it is black.
I want everything to look stock.
Custom colors could be done.

I'll get to the other inquiries later.

several weeks ago I told Andy he can use the very brown 1980 as his test Mule .....it is brown , it is a beater, it needs at least another 100 HP or so . We have base line dyno numbers . It gets smog checked in a few days so will not need that for two years .....I figure that by the time that comes up , I will part it out as spares for the widebody track car (project) also a 1980 ....... the wide body will really need a blower !!

Dr Nick,
I plan to start on the 16V system soon after first of year. There will be no adaptation though. It will be completely unique.

It won't be long Jim.

Stuart,
With prices in USD, for a GT/S4 besides my parts you would need :
Throttle Body 100
Boost Gauge 55
FPR 190
Injectors 225
Supercharger 200-600(Jag) or 2000 (whipple)
Air filter 35
Belts 50
Tensioner pulley 20
Fuel Lines 40
Air/Fuel Ratio Meter 100
Various Hoses 15
By-pass valve 80
wiring 10
Misc 100

For an 85-86 subtract: throttle body, and injectors (depending on boost)

As far as how it differs from those you mentioned, it is like comparing apples to oranges. There is quite a bit of reading here on the board about the differences.

Gregg K,
The manifold is pretty simple. It took a whole hell of a lot of work to get to that simple design though! It is similar to the Ford GT 40, Mustang Cobra, Lightning setups. It is 356A T6 and T51, cast and machined. The tooling was a significant investment.

RedUFO,
It will apply shortly after 1st of year.

Thanks Randy. Ironically I almost never look at what is pinned to the top and it took me a minute to spot the thread.

Hans,
Welcome to the journey. I am looking for a group of people that want to help each other out along the way. I'll keep you informed.

Drewster,
I'll nic nack paddy wack as hard and as fast I can to give the dog a bone, and get some old booger SCed sharks rolling home.

Lou,
What you post of is similar to the T-Bird SC and XR4ti. I bet that would be good but the custom radiator sounds like it would bring the price up a bit. Air to air intercooling is the simplest and probably the best. Check out this link to the T-Bird SC schematic.
