Having run 14.4-14.7...96-97 mph pretty consistantly in my own car(stock),, thats good stuff! I think sub 12 is well within your reach.

Grab a Gtech and do a few 0-60 and see what you come up with?

Are you having the pulleys anodized when you make them?

Andy,

Please explain the intercooler setup.
Does the upgraded spearco core add height to the position of the supercharger?
Does it mount before or aft the supercharger?

Can an intercooler cool down uncompressed air, air thats already pretty cool, if thats the case here?

How is waterflow limited or adjusted to eliminate tempurature increase? Sometimes too much flow will create a hot condition ironically.

I guess I am very curious. Weve seen the vortech people show their intercooler layout by many pictures for the S4 and up. I understand that layout but I havent seen the roots/screw intercooler pictures for the S3, layout and specifications too much. I know your using a motorcycle radiator for the heat exchanger, that is all I am aware of.

Clearing up the fog would be greatly appreciated.

Andy, i understand that you may not have alot of pictures, or maybe you do of the whole intercooler setup.
This is where a guy like Red UFO could really be utilized to show the setup for display to all to see.
I think if more of us knew more specificially what we were getting it would become easier to commit to it.

Warren,
It looks basicly like the '03 Mustang Cobra system in the picture above. The Cobra, Lightning, GT supercar and CL55 AMG all look like this. Check out this link to an animation of the Ford GT engine.
Does the upgraded spearco core add height to the position of the supercharger?
No.
Does it mount before or aft the supercharger?
After, just like above.
Can an intercooler cool down uncompressed air, air thats already pretty cool, if thats the case here?
No. Only water/alcohol injection or some type of AC powered IC could do that.
Sometimes too much flow will create a hot condition ironically.
I have yet to see this aspect discussed on the board. Could you lead us in the discussion w/ some specific examples. Please include calculations.
Are you having the pulleys anodized when you make them?
I am not sure which process I will use yet.

Tony,

"Having run 14.4-14.7...96-97 mph pretty consistantly in my own car(stock),, thats good stuff!"

Is your car an automatic or manual? It's maybe just me, but I would have expected something a little faster form an S4.

No disrespect intended.

Thanks Glen.

Imo000,
My car was running the same time as Tony's before the SC. My best time at Palmdale was a 15.320 or 14.7 with the altitude factored in the same weather as Friday night. 14.7 is what my manual states as the time for 87 S4.

Welcome to rennlist Rob.

I almost lived up in Acton when I first moved out here. I was going to drive the Angeles Crest highway to work every day.

Doy you ever make it over to Palmdale? I hope to run a quicker time before the end of Feb there. Maybe you would want to meet us there?

Why are you planning on overhauling your car?
Are you asking for suggestions as to what to do in preperation for supercharging?

Andy:

Can this be done with the usual cam cover and oil pan leaks, or is it imperative to get the engine re-sealed with new gaskets before installation? Also, 85's & 6's have an oil cooler in front of the radiator. The intercooler radiator you provide has enough room in front of it? Thanks

Don,
It really depends on how you would want to set up the system and how bad your car is leaking. If you were just going with a low boost setup then I don't think it would be a problem to have small usual leaks. I have the same leaks now.

We will be installing on an 86.5 starting maybe as early as next weekend. I'll have a better idea what will work for a heat exchanger then.

Lizard,
They are ready by First of Feb. Which manifold do you want? I have 1 or 2 Whipple and 2 or 3 Eaton left to sell. I say it that way because I have 2 blank manifolds that could be cut to fit either or something else for that matter. I will be keeping 1 blank though.
So those who haven't made up their minds may not be able to get one for a very long time, or maybe not at all. Price is $880. If I get commitments to buy all 11 by the time I have them all ready then I can sell them for less.

A quick update.
I got a call today claiming my second to last whipple manifold. There is 1 left to sell. 4 of the original whipple manifolds and both of the blank manifolds (turned to whipple) are now spoken for.

If you want a whipple manifold and have not told me that you definately want one you need to tell me now. Depending on how my time goes it may be a while before I am able to make more.

2 of the Eaton/Jaguar manifolds are spoken for leaving 3.

I'll update if anything changes.

Another update,

1 less Jag/Eaton setup is available leaving 2.

The same person that claimed it also bought a brand new Jaguar/Eaton M112 of E-bay for $480.00. That is $120 less than a rebuilt one from canadiansuperchargers.com

From what I understand this same seller has more and will be selling them at a rate of 1 per week. I will be looking for these. I will be bidding unless someone who wants a manifold fromme wants it. I will then yield.

Andy, I have a 2 valve S2. This car has the later LH-Jetronic injection, similar to an '85-86 US model.

Will your manifold bolt up to my two valve heads?

Normy!
