Default It would seem..

as if our hosts, the "International" something that begins with a "B" and ends with a "T", aren't particularly concerned with the feedback they've received on their "new" web interface.

Far be it from me to criticize their choices, but I would sincerely like to know where you're all going? I've grown to depend on this site for the high quality and even sometimes entertaining content it provides. If you're leaving (as I may be) during the next few months when your subscription expires, I'd like to know where you'll be landing so I can follow you?

Folks like Stan (Mr Merlin), Dr. Bob, Mike, T, Spencer, Doc Mirror? The rest of you know who you are. All of you, every last one of you, are priceless.

You'll be missed when IB shuts this place down. I'd like to go with you. I sincerely appreciate all the help you've given me and I don't want to lose that.

So where will you guys be going?

Best Regards,

Very strange responses all over this site to the changes.

I assume it’s the same old men who complained when Microsoft ditched XP and then again when win7 stopped being licensed.

Software, by design, is a changing amorphous entity. Sure, what they are done with this forum UX is a bit strange but this may not even be them but the VB underneath.

Change is the only constant.

I was one of the most vociferous and least... eloquent of the criticizers of the 'surprise' changes IB tested on us.

Seems, for me and on the machines I use, that with the "Classic Next Gen" skin, it's pretty much like the old UI.

What are you seeing?

Were you off-line during the couple of multi-hour phases when the 'new' UI was the only skin? Or are you just making assumptions about the changes that generated the complaints?

Dave asks; "are you just making assumptions about the changes that generated the complaints?"

No, I'm upset and disturbed by the lack of attention on the part of IB. I don't like it, many folks have said so too.

I was lured into complacency by offers to make it all right with a choice of interface; old or new.

BTW, You also made the list of people I'll miss when this site goes south.

As it turns out, there's no choice. The interface automatically reverts to what IB wants. I know it and I expect IB knows it. There's no choice. Do it now or do it later? Not a real choice.

PS: The penguin with the cymbals? Priceless!

BC, I don't know how to respond and I very much consider you personally to be an invaluable resource.

I just don't like it. I haven't seen many testimonials from people who do?

Speed, "change gives me a hairball".

An old friend once said that to me. Change, any change at all, needs to make things better or it's just irritating noise.

Where in BC are you BTW? I live just up the road from the location you claim...?

That question was directed at BC (hence, why his post was quoted) as it seemed that BC's response was that of someone who had not experienced the changes.

Strange. My browsers do not revert to some horrible IB infinite scroll 50% advertisement skin.

The penguin with the cymbals? Priceless!
Thanks. Sometimes I'm the penguin and sometimes I'm the bear.

My mistake. Apologies.

There is simply too much content here to move. Also, the alternatives are very dim - have you looked at Pelican recently? It is awful for 928 content. The 928 OC has some good resources, but a way smaller audience. Also, Reutterwerks never really got traction (although it could I suppose). And it drops off dramatically from there. 6 Speedonline is terrible; there are a few homegrown sites around, but nobody realistically is going to recreate a place like this in this day and age. And Facebook simply does not work as a viable forum. Non- searchable and very sporadic info.

So, it looks like this is still going to be the place. I wasn't crazy about the changes to the interface either, but after awhile, it melts into normalcy. What I know is that I could not own these great cars without this resource. So, I guess I'm staying here regardless.

OP, if you dislike it so much then just leave.

Quit trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill...

Agree with you and Ed, Rennlist has got the history and community, and it's the ONLY REASON I have the courage to own 928s. However, moving a mountain of people/history is just impossible. As much as the new web interface annoys others, it does let tablet users (like me at bedside surfing Rennlist) must easier navigation. No more pecking at tiny numbers for "page numbers" and get the wrong one. Just scroll with our fingers/thumb. I actually like the new format.

Sorry that the change affected you this greatly.

Why not just scroll to the bottom and change it back? I've only had to do this twice and the second time was after a plethora of Microsoft updates which reset my Chrome settings.

Ding, Ding, Ding - we have a winner!! No longer are the majority of users on PC's or Laptops, and the format was updated accordingly.

The old format is still there (see above).

^This.

Did the interface change? I mean, the menus did a little. Is that what we're talking about?

I don't have a lot of space dedicated to ads. Just the one at the top. But I pay the annual subscription and I make sure I stay logged in at all times.
