Recently spotted an 88' S4 5 speed for sale on auto trader close to me. So close it was meant to be, 3 miles. My lovely wife convinced me to go take a look even though it was offered at an absurdly low price. She was given instructions to be the veto power....a power to be used at any bad sign. Well, the 14 yr old in me took over and the veto was never used. Now I own my very first Porsche and my favorite variant- Blk on Blk 928. It runs but had a cooling problem, no fans coming on. Has been re sprayed at some time in its life...maybe a couple times. PO put 3k on it in 8 yrs but prior the maint records show a mileage recent timing belt and water pump. Either way, it was being flatbedded back to the house and the Terminator had to move over.

So, now it sits in the garage awaiting sensors, fuel lines, coolant lines, headlights pop out but lights don't come on and most likely needs things I never knew existed... I am enjoying an absolute perma grin every day since.

I have been a lurker off and on for years and want to extend my sincere appreciation and thanks to the members here. The information I have found has been terrific. I thank you in advance for having me and hope I can add to this great site (caution, it may only be laughter as I struggle getting her safely running).

I have to figure what platform pics can be submitted through....learning!

The honeymoon phase is great! I recall waking up everyday after I purchased my first Porsche 928 S4. It was like dating that super hot high school girl who was the cheerleader but yet was an honor student.
Post pics and ask all the questions you want, we are here to help one another.

Welcome. If you've been around for a while, you know how much info is here and how valuable it can be.

It seems like your wife is on board with the idea of owning one of these.

Lucky you.

BUT...

We have standards.

Color (exterior and interior)?

Auto or manual?

You can simply post the pics. As a non-paying "user", you can post, but you are limited in the amount of data (resize the pics to lower resolution to maximize how many you can post).

THIS...

Ooo! Club Sport rims! Very nice. 5-speed! nice interior. really good. as a lurker you probably know the potential for catastrophic Achilles heel type stuff. TB/ WP fuel lines power steering fluid lines. All the best and I look forward to your new adventure.

I almost grabbed that up last week. Looked like a deal to me. Around $5k? Needs a few minor things. Keep Roger on speed dial.

Welcome. Well bought - I'm certain.

Yup! Very nice.

OP: whatever you think of the Club Sport wheels, if they are bonafide 928 CS wheels and not wrong-offset 944 wheels, they're worth no less than $1k all day long.
