Default Instrument lights not working when I turn the lights on

I have an 87 S4 and the Instrument lights are not working when I turn the lights on. The warning lights work though..
Suggestions please.
thanks

Have you got the dimmer turned down?

Do the lights work with the ignition on and lights off?

Nice - that was easy.

However WD40 may not be the best long term choice - though it obviously worked - it's likely to gum it up a bit eventually. Switch cleaner or better DeoxIt or Stabilant will clean, lube, enhance & and protect (depending on what you use) without making it get sticky/gummy.
