Default 928 Torque Wrench

I've noticed these 928 "torque Wrenches" being advertised on Ebay recently. They can be purchased at or from Harbor Freight for $9.99 .They are usually $18.99, but are on sale for 1/2 price all the time.

I bet you can find the same thing for a Ford Galaxie 500!

Personally, as important as proper torque can be....well - some things I'd rather not scrimp on...like a rebuilt waterpump...generic plug wires...etc...

On the other hand - I've never seen a plain old 1/2" drive ratchet for close to $10!!

wow!! thats nuts, i spent like $60 for my 1/2 drive craftsman tq wrench

@anthony - I find it interesting that you shop @ harborfreight. When I used to do on-site technical servicing, i setup a network/computers in the owner's home. I had found out that he owns that business, but had never heard of it before.

read the first post again.

they're $30 on ebay. the *same* torque wrench is $10 at Harbor Freight. it's a piece of crap. all it's good for is a really big ratchet.

I agree, they are just as accurate as not using a torque wrench at all. I just wanted to keep someone here from getting ripped. Several months ago torque wrenches were discussed at some length. Both the "Beam" and "Break Away" types were covered. An interesting read for those wanting to know the pros and cons of each type.

I have one that looks identical as far as I can tell, though it is badged differently and cost about $20. I was going to use it to torque my heads, are you saying I shouldn't? I also have one that bends and uses a pointer/guage, should I use that instead?

Thanks
