Is there any trick to replacing the engine wiring harness? I have a new one but it's not easy getting to all the connections.

Dropping the alternator is the only real thing that needs to be taken off. (don't let it hang from the wires) The rest of your time will be spent trying to route the wires where they go. Keep an eye on how you take it out. I feed the new one from the top, putting the starter/alt/sensor wires in through the space where it goes between the cam gear cover first (front of the engine). Do yourself a favor and clean up as much goo from that area, above the alternator before you install.

There is also the harness clamp just above the power steering pump. I dare say one can get that without removing the PS pump but when contemplating the job I figured swinging it to one side once the alternator is out of the way is not too difficult and might help matters [or so it seemed when I did my PS hoses a few months ago].
