I appreciate all the comments regarding the powder coating and oil consumption. Have had a busy few weeks at work but was able to get back to the car this week.
I used a Dremel with wire wheel and removed the powder coating on all bolt mating surfaces as well as the hose nozzles so am hopeful that this alleviates any electrical connectivity issues.
To address the oil issues, I installed Gregg Browns oil baffle, drilled out all the elbows to full size, added another elbow to the drivers side as well as oil separators to both front elbows. The passenger side front requires a slight modification to allow the separator to fit (see photo)
I added the newer hose from the passenger side "Y" connector at base of MAF to the oil fill neck.
Also added GB fuel lines front and rear as well as new TPS, knock sensors, flappy bearings and had injectors cleaned.
Hopefully have her all buttoned up tomorrow and ready for Frenzy!

my 90 model Stock untouched 39K S4 was found to have an intake coating found in 1997 that was flaking off during a engine reseal job because the car sat 5 years and was leaking from every possible seal. I had a service contract and also was part owner in a shop that had been working on Porsche, BMW's and Mercedes since the 70's. My shop partner had owned several 928's and had many (rare at that time) 928 tools..... we sent the intake to DEVEK at the time as they were the intake experts... 400 miles after assembly the engine ate itself. the oil was full of glass media and metal flake.. from the intake refresh..... be afraid... very afraid.... in the following years my 928 gobbled up 100k... in some ways I wish I never bought it.... the only regret.... was the money... I met the best people of my life.... and now I am part of this wonderful family... except Hacker is that cousin that everyone denies being related to... and RandyV because of that shower pic with Normy...

Finished up the top end refresh this weekend. Had an issue fans not coming on during initial shakedown drive, after following troubleshooting found fan amplifier not working right, swapped in the one from 87 and she is running great. Took about a 45 minute drive on both interstate and stop and go and temp stayed right on the right side of the zero in the 170. I believe she is already for the trip up to Frenzy. I appreciate all the help and guidance!
