change of username for John Speake
I've just cancelled my vendor subscription and changed back to Member. This means I had to change my User Name to something new.... "Cambridge John".

Ridiculous requirement (to change user name.)

Sean, the reason given was that my old User Name was associated with my business... which is a bit daft as it was just my name.
Dave - yes they used to offer "Small Business partner" which was a sensible price, but then I was required to change to "Vendor" and the monthly fee was not reasonable as far as I am concerned.
I still continue with my business as before, my website is the same. Agents are the same.

IB is going to force me to sign-up for FaceBook. I've been avoiding it for many years, but if they keep this kind of shilt up, I and everyone else will leave, and reform under FB. It's already happened to one of my aviation forums.

I'm checking into this. Whatever financials changed the fees is what it is..... I don't understand the loss of screen name and post history though.
Us mods are not involved in such things. This thread is the first I'm hearing of this.
You make it sound like he's outright banned.
I'm on many 928 FB groups and frankly it's good for entertainment. That interface is horrible for anything technical. Try doing a search for anything, it isn't happening.
Any thread worth participating in turns into a mess real quick, that's just the nature of how those posts line up. FB and other similar sites were designed for short attention span quick conversations. Not ongoing and archived discussion / technical information.

+928 Horrible to the point of being unusable. And some FB 928 page owners remove you if you disagree with them or toss some shade on them.

Also I mentioned that I was avoiding FB for years. Does that sound as though I like, or value FB for anything? hmmmm

Your head would explode on FB Doc, nothing good will come of that, unless there are pictures of it posted on FB.

If you only knew what was inside FB from the IT end, it would scare the crap out of anyone. Their security can be hacked by a 8YO with an android.

As Doc will attest, FB is a virus in any even moderately secure environment. Thanks to some of the work I do and project sites I visit, FB is an absolute no-no. Plus, to an even greater extent than RL, FB is like a giant suction zone for time and intelligence.
A couple years ago, after agreeing that we were not going to let anyone know we were going to be gone for a few days, K was posting travel pix on FB as we drove. Oh, that's just for friends. It's a virus.
