will a set on 1990 928 stock rims fit my 1980 928? Will the offsets be proper or will I have to get spacers and such to make them fit? thanks

I don't recall if RDK (tire pressure monitoring system) was on '90s. I know that my 91 has them. If the wheels from the '90 have the RDK sensors on the inside of the rim then they may not work well on the '80. They made a very slight change to the dust shields to accommodate the RDK sensors and the sensors will rub on the older dust shields making a horrible noise.

Guess how I know this?

so any stock rims from the 89 and down should work ok with my 1980? I just want to be sure that the offsets and everything will be ok. Thanks again.

Johnathan,
go to D.R.'s site (www.928gt.com) look at the tech-specs section and scroll down to the factory tire/wheel specs table to make certain. But, yes, anything without the RDK sensors should work. For some combinations you may need a spacer. According to the D.R. '90s have RDK. You can still use them as long as you're willing to "bend to fit" the dust shields.

Very specifically, the 90s will work offset-wise without spacers. The rears are 8" rather than the 7" so the different offset of the 90s is not a problem. But, you'll still need (maybe) to worry about the dust shields.
