For the white 928 pictured above, the flare additions on the front and rear fenders are original Porsche parts that were added to Japanese market cars to meet specific regulations.

The front flares are delicate fiberglass pieces that are permanently mounted to the fenders with rivets. The rear flares are made of ABS plastic and mounted with screws.

Please read this thread from the beginning. All of the information about the XX8 cars is right here!

Your car is a highly desirable 1994 GTS Japanese market car with the Japanese flare extensions particular to that market.

Please consider editing or removing your post once you have read this thread in its entirety..

The same rear flares were used also on Swiss GTS's, but no flares for the front.

One of the 17 Worldwide production 1991 XX8 GT Wide Body 5-speeds is for sale near Munich, Germany. https://www.autoscout24.de/angebote/...search-results

In Amethyst Pearl Metallic over Burgundy Magenta/cloth inserts it is pretty stunning!

With 184k kms or approximately 115k miles, it appears to be in excellent condition and priced well at 80,000 Euros...

16 XX8 GT's were made for Germany
1 XX8 GT was made for the US...

I do not know any specifics about history or maintenance, but the car looks great in the pictures... Can someone in Germany check it out for us?

No affiliation...

Should I?

The car is in Munich, 900 km away, so looking for you is difficult.

Munich GT interior leather is Magenta. Often combined with Amethyst at the time.

Thanks for the correction, I gave it a close look and compared it to my burgundy and a magenta interior GTS that I tried to purchase.

I personally think that this car is a great deal!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't most XX8 cars have the S4 rear cap without the reflector strip? This one has a GTS style rear cap as well as Cup I wheels, which I also wonder if they're original. I'm still researching the VIN, have narrowed it down to 10 so far and am not done filtering. The Blaupunkt Symphony radio is what got me from 16 to 10. If I had the code for the cloth seats I could probably zero in on it - I see the emergency brake handle is leather wrapped, so that's another option clue. Rob can probably take it from here, lol.

Jarrod,
You are correct that it is the wrong rear bumper cover and incorrect wheels. Probably a partial updating - - - but it still has the correct flag mirrors and unpainted spoiler. I wonder if the 43mm spacers and D90's are available with the car? The D90's are available, but the 43mm spacers are probably unobtanium.

This is the first of the 16 German XX8 GT's I have seen, so for me it is pretty nice to find. I hope it brings out more... My guess is that it is one of the late ones because its first registration was February of 92.

Can't wait to see what Rob or Samuel come up with on the serial number. It is one of these:
1. WP0ZZZ92ZMS800579/ LHD/928 GT/Germany
2. WP0ZZZ92ZMS800664/ LHD/928 GT/Germany

None of the above 16 have IXN7, the option for the leather-wrapped parking brake handle.

However, this car doesn't appear to have heated seats, and only 1 of the 16 XX8 '91 GTs does not have heated seats- WP0ZZZ92ZMS801703. So that may be it (?)

Isn't leather standard on '91-95 parking brake handle? I think multiple GTS I have seen all have it without Exclusive department code. Exclusive code is for non standard color?

Yes I think you‘re right.
Haven‘t seen a GTS without leather on the handle.

Agreed. Leather parking brake handle is standard for 1991-1995 MY. It was also possible to have all the brake lever leather covered before.

I would bet that this car is a former factory company car.
The rims and rear bumper cover are certainly not original.
